Greg, a native San Diegan, graduated from Christian High School and then went up to UCLA for a degree in Business-Economics and started his first job as a CPA for a public accounting firm; Touche Ross & Co. Greg’s family has always been heavily involved in the “bug business” and in 1984 he went to join his uncle, Jim Ogle, as the comptroller of Lloyd Pest Control in San Diego. In 1995 He attended his first Pest Control Operators of California district meeting and was elected Chairman of the San Diego District. Since, he has been an active member of PCOC at the district and state level, serving on many committees as Chairman. He and his wife of 35 years, Mary, bought Harbor Pest Control in 2002 from John and Kate Morgenroth and have been expanding the business ever since. He is still an operator in all three branches of pest control and holds his QAL agricultural pest control license. Greg and Mary have resided in the San Diego area for 33 years, raising their four children and growing Harbor Pest Control while maintaining family values and hands on decision making and relationship building with their employees. They enjoy traveling to visit their children in various states, sailing and quality time with one another. Greg believes that paying more attention to people than numbers and taking care of both employees and customers will always result in good growth and business. As he says, “whether the company is large or small, if it is professional and ethical, it will stand the test of time.”
Bill joined the Harbor Pest Control family in February of 1980 as a fumigator, expecting his job to be a short term venture. He soon grew to enjoy the physicality of the job and after three months, the owners, John and Kate Morgenroth, promoted him to crew leader and a career was born. Bill now has 37 years in the pest control industry and has supervised all facets of the business. He is an operator in all three branches of pest control and carries his QAL agricultural pest control license. He is also a member of the State Structural Fumigation Enforcement Committee. He and his wife raised two children in San Diego and actively participated in coaching soccer and baseball and volunteered as youth directors for their church. Bill’s wife and children have all worked at Harbor, with his wife retiring to help raise their four grandchildren Although Bill’s hair has grayed since he started in pest control, his love for the business and it’s ever changing and evolving industry has not faded. As he says “We now have tactical technicians armed with pest specific solution. Our safety and environmental consciousness has grown a hundred fold since the 80s.” Through every change, Bill has helped Harbor Pest Control to adapt and grow successfully, crediting his “Love of God and family” for his strength.
